Re: Exposure

Hi David, When you connect to the camera in CMN, CMN will apply the current profile and adjust the settings. If you then adjust a setting like shutter speed, it will change it on the camera as well. If you want to keep that setting in the profile for later use, you can save the profile. >> if when u...

Re: File naming

Hi Tom,

This is not possible as the Nikon body doesn't include the original filename in the metadata or the image data transferred to the PC after capture while tethered. Best you can do is try to sync it with the ControlMyNikon custom filenames, but this would be a pain to maintain.

Re: Focus box

This can be set in the body LCD screen. For most bodies, you need to be in live view, then you can set the focus box size. The exact instructions to do so varies per model, so best to check the manual. You'll see the focus box size change on the body live view display as well.

Re: Macro stacking Nikon 7000

This is due to the focus mode setting on the camera. More info on how to fix it here:

Re: Serial Number not validating?

Just send an email to us on our website. Some common validation problems:

1) The product key was for 4.3, but you are trying it on 5.x. You'll need a new key for 5.x.
2) Zero's and oh's in the key. There's only zero's. No oh's.
3) Copy and paste.

Re: Device cannot be opened

Hi Ross,

Are you using a Kensington device, or using a Kensington driver for any devices on that system? This is the third instance of this error that I have heard this week. The other two were Kensington device driver related.

Re: D7500 - controlling focus

Hi Richard, I understand from your email on Feb 23 that it is now working. Please let me know if you run across the reason it was not working. Regarding autofocus: the SDK/firmware/lens cpu functionality/code that control an autofocus attempt, and the incremental focus control used in stacking are t...

Re: D7500 - controlling focus

Hi Richard, If you are able to get it to autofocus by clicking on the live view image, the body and lens are communicating fine. However, the focus nearer/farther controls to step the focus point manually uses a bit of a different method. It does rely on the lens having a Nikon or compatible lens CP...

Please post the text from the log tab here and I will take a look. Which 3dconnexion device are you using? Not sure if the message is referring to another device, such as the microphone or a joystick. Does the 3dconnexion controller seem to work ok in CMJ even though this message is displayed in the...

Re: Orientation Problems

The camera will attempt to auto-orient image based on the orientation sensor readings, but if it is mounted perfectly vertical, this confuses the sensor and it can flip around to different orientations. The only workaround for this is as you found, is to not have it perfectly vertical. You can manua...
